ALBUMS (2) containing the history of the family firm in photographs, brochures, postcards. advertisements etc. The firm was founded by Mr.F.G.Harris who purchased a retail grocery business from Mr. W.E.Jones in 1927. In 1939 Harris & Sons opened a wholesale section, taking over the business of Burgess Stores (Godalming) Ltd., (the Album contains a plan and elevation for an addition to the Hindhead warehouse). The retail business expanded rapidly and in 1949 a site was bought in the Headley Road, Grayshott, previously occupied by Gamer & Puttick, decorators and plumbers. In 1952 after the death of the Founder, an illustrated booklet was published to celebrate the firm's Silver Jubilee. The New Grayshott Food Store was opened in the Square in 1970. In 1977 another brochure was issued to celebrate their Golden Jubilee. Finally in 1981 the business was purchased by Archer Perkins who moved the store to Farnborough, having sold the Headley Road site to developers who built the Summer House Court flats thereon.

Dunlop, Flight-Lieutenant Dennis Aitchison of West View, Hammer Lane, Grayshott. Newspaper cuttings (2), one probably taken from the Haslemere Herald concerning Dunlop's awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross and of the American Air Medal; the other cutting, dated Monday August 4th 1952 is his portrait in flying gear returned from combat servicing patrol in an American Sabre Jet squadron in Korea. Grayshott and Hindhead Winemaker's Circle. founded in March 1975. Handwritten 2-page account of the history and activities of the Circle by Mrs. Pat .at White, member, sometime secretary and chairman, from 1986 to the present day {2003]. The account is attached to a pink paper mounted with photographs of the Magda Trophy vase and a group of the competition award cups, with a list of the names of the cups and of competition categories. Also attached is a copy of the 1996 programmed and press-cuttings (6) from the Haslemere Herald, describing the various activities enjoyed by the members from 1994-2002

Good Companion's Club: Minute books (2). Vol.1 November 1960 to September 1977. Bound in red moiré pattern boards, cloth spine. Vol.2 October 1977-May 1990-Bound in dark blue boards, light blue spine. Also a scrapbook of press -cuttings in green pattern paper boards, lettered in gold on the front cover ' Scrapbook'. A plastic envelope contains a few more cuttings and 14 photographs of members' outings, lunches etc. There is also a file with membership lists, dated 1984-C.1988.

Grayshott Nursing Home, , Boundary Lane, opposite the entrance to the Surgery car park, empty prior to demolition. Three photographs, taken in April 2003. The building, originally an Edwardian private residence, was a hotel and then a nursing home. Permission was given on appeal for a block of flats to be erected on the site, which is adjacent to the Village Hall. Given by Mr. Ron Beech
